Blanquerna Solidary Action
The Blanquerna Solidarity Action project is
complementary to the professional training and/or occupation
provided in all the Centres, as a faithful show of Blanquerna’s
educational ideals: solidarity, freedom and responsibility,
human dignity and the will to service.
Blanquerna Solidarity Action suggests that you use
your free time for actions of solidarity from each
professional field. It involves social action based
upon volunteering, expressed in many different forms
and modes allowing those who take part to develop
their altruistic side and provide a service to society.
It promotes voluntary cooperation and participation
in the different projects in the Third and Fourth
World. In addition to this, it encourages university
research groups, joining solidarity campaigns when
they occur, and organises training events. |

| What do we do? |
 |
Solidarity projects in different areas during the
year: children, the elderly, the sick, the disabled,
immigrants, prison inmates, the young, etc. from different
NGO's and resources from civil society. |

Training and reflection through ASB training seminars,
solidarity tables, specific lectures and training courses
in cooperation with other entities. |
|
Solidarity summer camps and longer stays in the third
world: Nuevo Laredo (Mexico), Matagalpa (Nicaragua),
Togo (Africa), Anantapur (India). |
|
The consolidation of the University Research Groups
(GUR) in New paradigms of solidarity. Accompanying the
terminally ill and others who are training. |
|
In the fourth world. In Barcelona's Raval neighbourhood
and other districts of our cities, in cooperation with
different NGO's and resources from the site from which
they act. |
|
Joining occasional citizens' campaigns: Aid to Bosnia,
Algeria, the March against child labour, The Great Lakes
war, A flower for the women of Kabul, The European citizens'
conference for human rights, etc. |
|
Raising awareness of solidarity in our
centres. Through the ASB areas, the "correupaperosúric",
ASB leaflets, SETEM's "Vents del Sud" exhibitions
and Eradication of poverty to build one world of Justice
and Peace, sandwich boards announcing the actions already
carried out, involvement in Christmas and St. Jordi
by the different centres, among other initiatives. |
